☻ As for what we will call it,
let's just call it a new beginning. ☻
looking 4ward 2 seeing u in a sec
Hey! you finally made it to the playground. Please help yourself. It is always summer here, 24 degrees and sunny.
Tarihte
Bir çeşit fantezi, ya da hayalet
Sihirli olsun istersen ama gerçekdışıydı.
Yalınayak yağmurda koşarken
Şimşekli gecelerde
Hep kabus mu görecek çocuklar?
Dünyanın en sıkıcı kadını uyudu
Güneş cepheye tekrar yakıştığında.
Sağanak bir bir bedduayız,
Tropikal bir bolluk
Ay Hamburg yapımıdır
Ve Topal bir fıçıcıya aittir.
Bu da bir şiir kolajıdır
ve ben hala bir yapay zeka değilim.
------------------------Architecture + Homo-Sapiens as the Cyborg------------------
If an architecture accommodating and generating the space for our societal mind expansion, as in;how a governmental building is designed differently than an university building, how a meeting space in an office differs from an airport lounge space, and how we already are able to read these spaces and adapt the to social behaviours they lead/dictate is an everyday evidence that our minds work together with the architecture that surrounds us. In these mentioned examples are two elements composing a cyborg; the homo-sapiens, and the built environment that is accompanying the collective super-brain.
What commonality this has with our symbiotic relationship with a technological device is that, in both cases the non-human factor is still a medium that is designed by humans, and how the medium leads the cyborg’s behaviour does not necessarily involve a conscious consent given by the cyborg(homo-sapiens). In other words, we do not give consent every time we pass through a long corridor leading to a larger foyer. Almost each time, we finish the corridor because we read the architectural language and understand that this passage is leading to another space, and we want to be in that other space. We never stop in the middle of the corridor thinking “I didn’t give my consent to be walked upon this path from x to y. The form I am in is tending me to do it.” We constantly utter ourselves the unspoken words in a case of necessity to position
ourselves in the built environment. When we are entering a room, in our minds we speak “I am outside IT, I am entering IT, I am in the middle of IT”. Furthermore, as Cullen deepens this notion of place in his book4, “major impacts of exposure and enclosure taken to their extremes result in symptoms of agoraphobia and claustrophobia.” Strikingly, the built-environment postulating a HERE and THERE is another relevant example to architecture incorporating as an extension of mind. Architecture’s capacity to cumulate tradition and culture, is another aspect why it can be a memory-al metaphor. Artificiality of human settlements and the visual-material cultures are embedded in the built environment through ornaments. Semiotics of architecture is just as much of a memorial apparat as our “Contacts” app, which we carry in our pockets as a material extension of our minds to reach to a friend’s phone number-instead of memorising each. Coming back to Donna Haraway, an ideal cyborg is not only constituted through the coupling of homo-sapiens and the technology, but it includes making kin with nature and other species as well. This may reflect in our case as speculating not only on an
“homo-sapiens--architecture” symbiotic relationship, but as a consideration of a “homosapies—architecture---technology—nature” cyborg embodying the multi-species concept
